Rink Expansion for the San Jose Sharks and a New Tech CU Arena

On their existing 19.3 acre site, the San Jose Sharks wanted to add two new rinks to their existing four-rink ice facility. They also sought to designate one of the new rinks as a future medical facility and a 4,200 seat arena for their AHL affiliate, San Jose Barracuda.

RJA assisted the client with feedback on grading, stormwater treatment, and utilities while identifying issues and providing solutions to those challenges. RJA also guided the client through the entitlement and construction document process with the city by preparing planning level documents and civil site improvement and grading plans for city’s review and approval. PROJECT RESULTS

Construction of the two new rinks completed in 2022. The first San Jose Barracuda game was played at the new arena in October that year.
