roundabouts on a major arterial
RJA performed the initial geometric layout studies and prepared the construction documents for a design that included over one mile of Class I multi-use trail, reclaimed and domestic water distribution mains, rapid flashing beacon pedestrian crossings and stormwater quality basins. RJA led the multi-agency processing, gaining City of Gilroy approval along with an encroachment permit from the County of Santa Clara Roads and Airports Department. Additionally, the RJA team provided right-of-way surveys & mapping, aerial & supplemental topographic survey, and performed the construction staking.
PROJECT RESULTS
The design was approved by both agencies. Encroachment permits were issued, the roundabouts, trails, and pedestrian crossings were constructed and are now actively used and enjoyed by the public.
